A very unique pepper sauce. It’s rich and deep in flavor with a medium heat for a short duration. Freeburd has a garden fresh flavor, but not “herbie” or vegetable like. I use apple cherry and Bourbon barrel wood chips to make the smoke which gives this sauce a unique light smoky flavor. Freeburd is a non-fermented sauce but actually aged in the bottle. Being non-fermented and containing only nine ingredients, you can mostly distinguish each ingredient individually.
Free bird is one of the first sauces I ever concocted. When I first tasted it there was a song playing on the radio perhaps you can probably guess which song it was! I get a lot of requests for this sauce and it pretty much works with everything but, I prefer on fried a Mahi fish nuggets, chicken nuggets or slathered all over a plate of rice. Yum!
